This recording is the realisation of an idea that I have envisaged since a unique set of five distinctive Brazilian guitars were acquired by The University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (MCM) almost a decade ago. My original compositions cover various styles of Brazilian instrumental music including choro, samba, north-eastern rhythms, waltz and ballads, and I have performed on the five different guitars: the seven- string guitar, cavaquinho, tenor guitar, mandolin and viola caipira, utilising them in a variety of combinations.
